Heart-Space & Empaths

Updated: Jan 20, 2020

As Empaths sometimes we don't know who we are or we tend to lose ourselves overtime; we have spent so much time blending our energy with others that when it comes to deeply knowing ourselves, we may be a little lost.

Do you have that panic when someone asks you who you are? What you like? What you're passionate about? Do you draw a blank? Diving into your heart-space can help you reconnect with yourself and your authenticity.

Working with the heart-space, I believe, is the place to start. Why? Well, let's take a look at the heart-space and how it relates to empaths.

Empaths have an interesting relationship with people. They tend to really love people and want to help them, but at the same time, do not want to be around people. We can find people to be very energetically draining, especially in larger groups. Wal-mart is a nightmare. And, we may find ourselves in the homebody zone wanting to stay at home and chill. Energetically I see such big hearts open to give love & energy to whoever needs it. Ironically, whoever needs love, compassion, and energy doesn't seem to apply to the empath themselves.

You maybe like how does this relate to the heart space. Okay, stay with me here. The heart-space is a hub for receiving and giving and empaths; you have the giving part down! You also tend to have the love that sees no separation meaning that you tend to be an equal opportunity lover. Which high five to you empaths! We need more love in this world that doesn't have any racial, sexism, class-ism, homophobia, transphobia, or other bias. You see the giving thing you have down pat.

Now that's talk about the receiving side. Ummmm...okay, how often do you tend to give love, compassion, time to yourself? How often do you ask or allow someone to give to you? Do you speak up about your needs? How do you take a compliment? Do you cringe even thinking about someone complimenting you? Would you instead redirect the conversation to someone else, being more comfortable talking about the other person? Do you feel selfish thinking, or taking time for yourself? Do you see the imbalance of giving and receiving?

The heart-space also helps us connect to our authenticity and is instrumental for assisting empaths in starting to untangle what is their values vs. values that we have adopted from others, society, parents, etc., or values we don't speak up against because again we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or disappoint others.

I'm passionate about diving into the heart-space to live and work in our authenticity. I hope this gives you a small taste of how the heart-space can play into the Empath world.
